Social Content Consultant (Video / Instagram)
Turn live trial sessions inside a brand-new immersive experience into the social content that builds our pre-launch audience.
About Three Doors
Three Doors is a pre-launch immersive entertainment company. We're building a 90-minute live experience for teams of 3–6 where every player walks out with a behavioural profile derived from how they actually moved through pressure — not from a questionnaire. Two audiences, one product: consumer tickets for friends, couples and groups; corporate team-development packages on weekdays.
The founder is Tom Ball, who built DeskLodge (48,000 sq ft, £4m turnover, Sunday Times Top 10 Best Places to Work 2023, B-Corp) and has played 121 escape rooms in service of this.
We are pre-seed. Small team, AI-leveraged: a couple of full-time hires (Game Master, Operations Manager) plus a small consultant pool. This is the day-to-day social-content seat in that pool.
The role
You produce. Where the Marketing Consultant writes the strategy, you turn it into the content that goes out — Instagram, TikTok, Shorts, YouTube, occasional LinkedIn. You film inside trial sessions (with consent), you edit, you write captions, you ship.
This is hands-on craft work. We are not looking for a content strategist or an agency relationship — we are looking for one excellent maker who can turn raw session footage and behind-the-scenes moments into shareable short-form video, at pace, on a small budget, with a consistent visual voice.
A separate Video Creator / Production Designer handles brand films, the website hero film, and physical-set production design. Your patch is the high-frequency, low-cost, high-volume social churn.
Deliverables
The initial paid project is 20 days (1 day/week over 20 weeks). That's a real cadence of output — enough to find what travels, what doesn't, and what our visual voice is. We'd scope the volume against your honest assessment of what 1 day/week genuinely supports.
A typical week of the engagement looks like:
- 8–16 short-form videos across Instagram Reels, TikTok, Shorts (mix of trial-session footage, behind-the-scenes, team-led pieces, founder Q&A snippets)
- 2–4 longer cuts for YouTube or LinkedIn (3–8 min) when there's a story worth telling at length
- Caption + hook writing for everything you ship, in our voice
- A content calendar that the rest of the team can see and contribute to
- A reusable visual style — fonts, motion, sound design, captions — locked early and applied consistently
- Live capture at trial sessions — being in the room, camera-ready, when the GM is running a team through
Who you are
- You have a portfolio of short-form video work, with links. Quality bar: we'd watch it ourselves
- You can shoot AND edit AND write the caption. The whole pipeline lives in one head
- You have an instinct for what travels on each platform — Reels ≠ TikTok ≠ Shorts ≠ LinkedIn, and you know the difference
- Comfortable with on-camera people who didn't sign up to be on-camera. You make non-performers feel safe and make their best 8 seconds findable
- Fast. You can take 90 minutes of trial footage and have a Reel cut by end of day
- Tasteful. You know when to leave a moment alone instead of putting a meme cut on it
Bonus
- AI-native — you use Claude, Runway, ElevenLabs, nanobanana, or similar to compress production where you can
- Background in immersive entertainment, theatre, attractions, hospitality, or experiential (so you instinctively know what's filmable and what breaks the spell)
- Existing Instagram or TikTok audience of your own (not required, useful signal)
- Sound design instinct — the audio editing matters as much as the visual on short-form
How we work
- AI-leveraged. We use Claude/ChatGPT extensively and expect you do too
- Pre-venue. The product is being built around you — you'll see versions of the experience the public won't see for months
- Cockroach, not unicorn. Tight budget, fast cycle, real respect for craft
- Bias to operating discipline over startup-theatre. Tom's background is operational real estate, not VC-circuit
Terms
Initial scope, with view to more. This is an initial paid project — 20 days over 20 weeks, tight scope, designed to find what works fast. If it works for both sides, there's a lot more — increased weekly cadence as trial sessions get more frequent, a step up again toward launch, and potentially a full-time content seat once the venue is open. Several of the consultant briefs in this pool exist because the right initial engagement could grow into something bigger.
What we're imagining: 1 day/week × 20 weeks. Day rate and fee structure discussed directly.
What we'd like to see: your proposal. If you'd rather work to a fixed monthly retainer, a per-deliverable rate, or a different structure, show us.
- Mostly remote for edit; on-site at our Henley HQ (Unit 1 Stuart's Lane, RG9 1RY) on trial-session days
- Bring your own kit for now (camera, edit setup). We'll discuss gear contributions if scope grows
- IP terms. Your fee covers IP assignment on delivered video — including B-roll, outtakes, project files, and any AI prompts you've developed for our brief. We're paying you to make work that becomes ours. You retain general methodology and craft, not the specific outputs or the prompts that produced them. We say this upfront because not everyone is comfortable with it — better to find out now than later.
How to apply
Send us, in your own words: (1) three links to your work — one Reel/TikTok you'd defend in any room, one longer cut you're proud of, one piece you'd now do differently and why, (2) what software and kit you use, (3) one question you'd want to ask Tom before deciding.
CV optional. Portfolio mandatory.
Three Doors Experience Ltd is an equal-opportunity employer. We hire on judgement, behaviour under pressure, and whether you'll make the team better — not on credentials.
